About Animal Allies
Animal Allies began in 1998 with the mission of reducing stray and unwanted pets in the community of Spartanburg, SC through a low-cost spay and neuter program. In the first years there was no central clinic. All surgeries were scheduled with local veterinarians who chose to participate in the program. Animal Allies handled booking the surgeries and promoting the benefits of spay/neuter to the public.

Over the years the program has grown by leaps and bounds and, as of January 2006, we're a stand alone clinic performing hundreds of surgeries per month. With innovative programs such as Prevent-A-Litter, Feral Cat TNR and periodic Neuterathons, Animal Allies is actively working to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens from entering our shelter system.

Betsy Boxer is the founder of and driving force behind Animal Allies. As Executive Director of the organization she oversees the clinic on a daily basis.
